About the Role:

As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will play a crucial role in delivering English, Maths, and ICT lessons tailored to the individual needs of students. You will work with a diverse group of learners, including those who require additional support to achieve their educational goals.

Functional Skills Tutor Responsibilities:

• Planning and delivering engaging and accessible Functional Skills lessons to learners of varying abilities.
• Assessing and tracking student progress, identifying areas for development, and implementing targeted interventions.
• Adapting teaching methods to suit different learning styles and ensuring all students are supported effectively.
• Providing a nurturing and structured learning environment, fostering confidence and motivation in learners.
• Preparing students for assessments and examinations, ensuring they have the skills required to progress in education or employment.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to enhance student learning experiences.

Functional Skills Tutor Requirements:

• A relevant tutoring experience in Functional Skills.
• Experience in delivering Functional Skills in English, Maths, and ICT to students with diverse learning needs.
• A solid understanding of differentiated instruction and the ability to tailor lessons accordingly.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
